Main Responsibilities

The Project Director will be responsible for leading the strategy, execution and management of infrastructure and industrial facility projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing long-term infrastructure strategies and project plans;
  • Managing capital projects from the study phase through to commissioning;
  • Supervising operations and maintenance of waste treatment facilities;
  • Monitoring environmental matters, permits and regulatory compliance;
  • Managing asset life cycles and renewal projects;
  • Assessing new technologies and solutions for different types of waste;
  • Managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets;
  • Monitoring costs, investment returns and financial performance;
  • Leading and developing multidisciplinary teams;
  • Promoting a culture of safety, innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

To apply for the Project Director in Mozambique position, candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or Civil Engineering;
  • 10 to 15 years of professional experience in waste treatment, technical project execution or industrial infrastructure development;
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector;
  • Experience managing facilities across different locations;
  • Experience with Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), landfills and hazardous waste;
  • Experience managing capital projects from concept through commissioning;
  • Experience in environmental permitting and ESG initiatives;
  • Knowledge of project risk, scope and budget management.

A Master’s degree in Project Management, Environmental Management or a related field, as well as PMP or PRINCE2 certification, would be an advantage.
